Firewood at Sacred Rocks RV Park

We do allow fires under appropriate conditions (no wind) and supply the fire rings. Firewood can be purchased from the Convenience Store.

larvae of Gold-Spotted Oak BorerWe practice our own recycling program for firewood. Dead trees and branches are dropped by the tree-trimming company and then our workers drag and cut them up for the wood pile. A bundle of wood is $5.00, paid at the store in return for an orange ticket, and is delivered to the campsite along with a fire ring if needed.

Avoid Moving Wood

There is a strict BAN against outside wood being brought on to our property. The fact is, millions of trees in forests of America have been decimated by imported bugs. One of the main attractions at the Reserve is our many ancient oak trees.

Both the shortage of water in Southern California and infestations render our trees vulnerable to sudden death. Imagine, the venerable 400 year old oak, killed in 2 weeks because of a bug! We have seen it. Ten times!
